 Why do we lift our hands?


"Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord" (Psalm 47:1)

"I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up Holy hands, without wrath and doubting" ( 1 Timothy 2:8)


Why do we clap our hands?


"Oh clap your hands, all you people! Shout to God with the voice of triumph." ( Psalm 47:1)


Why are musical instruments used?


"Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals." (Psalms 150:3-5)

"And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder, and I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps." (Revelations: 14:2)


Why do we anoint with oil and pray for the sick?


"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." (James 5:14-15)


Why do we have audible praise unto God?


" Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me bless His Holy name." (Psalm 103:1)

"So when they heard that, they raised their voices to God" (Acts 4:24)


Why do we sing choruses as well as hymns?


"And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation: but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord..." (Ephesians: 5:18-19)
